Foreword

when max reached for the alu stars

Our journey from aluminum foil to european market leader in the creative sector.

It all began in 1965, when Max Bringmann had the idea of offering aluminum foil for craft fans. What started out with three employees has developed into a brand that today inspires people around the world to get creative.

From foil
to folia

One man, one vision, one product – for now. Our name has its roots in Latin and comes from the word folium (“leaf”). Back then, no one could have guessed that decades later, the name “folia” would inspire people around the world to get creative. Today, folia is a family-run company with 200 employees and is the European market leader.
A lot has changed, but our passion for creativity and our aspirations have remained the same: To inspire people with the most diverse backgrounds and motivations with the highest quality products. It all began with aluminum foil. Today, with over 6,000 items, folia has everything your crafting heart desires.

The beginning with brilliance

One man, one idea - and one roll of aluminum foil. Max Bringmann then founded a small company that began with craft aluminum foil. This first step led to a creative success story that continues to this day.

Print your own paths

The company continues to grow and acquires its own print shop as well as an ever-increasing selection of creative products. Step by step, a range is created that becomes increasingly diverse and invites people of all ages to get crafting. There is a clear vision behind this: creative materials should be accessible to everyone.

Off to new shores

The move to Wendelstein opens up completely new space for creative developments. The company continues to grow on 23,000 square meters, opens up international markets and expands beyond Germany. As a result, folia becomes increasingly visible beyond the country's borders and establishes itself as a creative partner in many countries.

Think globally, act locally

More employees are added, new markets open up and the company's responsibility increases with its growth. In 2004, the "Bavaria's Best 50" award follows, which impressively confirms this path. It is a decade in which folia sharpens its structures and consistently professionalizes itself.

New look

The brand is given a new, bold look - the corporate design is comprehensively revised. The result is a look that is just as colorful, clear and open as the products we bring into the world every day. In this way, folia shows even more clearly what the brand stands for: creativity, diversity and the joy of design.
