What you need:
Your desk is overflowing, WhatsApp is annoying, the sun has hidden somewhere behind the horizon and all you want to do is crawl under a thick blanket with earplugs? Then it's high time for a big dose of feel-good me-time. Because even if all you can see are grey clouds in the sky, you can still paint the world a little more colorful and beautiful.

So that you can really enjoy your me-time, we'll show you our favorite painting techniques that will turn you into a self-care Picasso overnight. Would you like to familiarize yourself with your new artistic self first? With our practice sheet, you can approach each painting technique stroke by stroke. We wish you wonderful hours with your colouring book and hope you can really enjoy your creative slowdown! Keep calm & stay creative!

Schritt 1

Painting with a felt-tip pen

Don't worry, you shouldn't put a period after your me-time, but instead get in the mood for a relaxing time with your colouring book with a little dot meditation. You're guaranteed to score points with felt-tip pens - and not just with yourself. Pointillism may sound like a daring coloring technique, but when it comes to self-care and the like, you can reach for the stars. Lining up dots not only has a meditative effect, you can also use the painting technique to create exciting shades and give our motifs a great look. Of course, you can also use the felt-tip pen as usual and colour in beautiful areas. The folia dual-tip fibre-tip pen is perfect for mixing dots and colored areas: the thin tip allows you to quickly create dots, while the wide tip allows you to quickly and accurately fill large areas with your favorite color.
Schritt 2

Painting with crayons

When you think of chalk, do you immediately think of the blackboard, going to school and learning? No need to panic. Not only can chalk pens be used to derive math formulas, they have also become the favorite pen of me-time artists. Not only can you conjure up great textures on the page with them: with a brush and well-dosed drops of water, the colors can be watercolored and mixed wonderfully. Actually, you can get started right away with the chalk pens. However, if you would like to try out the watercolor technique first, grab our watercolor block and try out the endless possibilities of the chalk pencil.
Schritt 3

Painting with colored pencil

Well, colored pencil may sound a bit old school, but with the Me-Time coloring book you are "to cool for school" anyway. If you know how, you can create beautiful color gradients with colored pencils. With the right technique, you can conjure up a colorful work of art with just a few colors. The wonderful thing about colored pencils? They are inexpensive and really familiar to everyone. Your perfect introduction to the wide world of coloring techniques. You can practice the various techniques with colored pencils on any paper. But with the right drawing paper, you can achieve even better results. If you want to try your hand at coloring with a colored pencil beforehand, we have the right drawing pad for you here.
Schritt 4

Painting with watercolor

Watercolor is out of date? Not at all - the painting technique has shed its dusty garb. With a few swipes of the brush, you can quickly conjure up a romantic look on paper. The best thing about it? The technique looks complicated, but with a few simple tricks you can quickly give William Turner & Co a run for their money.
