DIY advent calendar: catch the anticipation

When it gets cold outside, we simply dive into the colorful sea! Our cheerful fishing game is not only fun to play with - it even becomes a very special Advent calendar during Advent. Because at Christmas time, our sea creatures turn into little Christmas fish with sweet messages, mini vouchers and surprises in their bellies.

And yes, even a gingerbread man suddenly appears - we'd love to find out his Advent secret! But before that, of course, there are 23 other secrets of the sea waiting to be discovered. We're secretly hoping for a voucher for gingerbread with extra chocolate ... but an Advent story read aloud, a visit to the playground or making poinsettias together would also be real highlights. And we're sure you can think of lots more surprises that will make Advent really, really nice for your children.

Print out the template on folia kraft paper.

Transfer fins, faces and other details onto colored clay paper and glue it onto your fish. Remember that each object has two sides that will be glued together later.

Now it's time to use the folia magnet. Attach it with double-sided adhesive tape on one inside and then stick the fish together by applying glue to the edges of the inside. Leave a gap at the fish's mouth so that the fish remains open. This is where your vouchers go in.

Write small coupons and put them rolled up in your fish.

You can use a folia paper straw with folia embroidery thread as a fishing rod.

In addition, the hook must not be missing, in which you hide a magnet between two side parts, just like with the fish. Now all you have to do is tie it to the fishing line.

Now you need an aquarium so that the fish don't sit on dry land. Cut one side out of a folia cardboard box and replace it with folia mobile foil.

Add a piece of blue tracing paper and all that's missing are a few water grasses.

Cut the aquatic plants out of different shades of green colored paper and stick them on the walls of the aquarium.

And last but not least, the Christmas decorations should not be missing here either. Decorate the greenery with baubles or stars.

Now all you have to do is wait patiently until December 1st ! Then it's time to start fishing and catch the Christmas fish with the right number every day. Psst! Even after Santa has been, the colorful fishing game is still great fun in the playroom!
