Sometimes memories just need a little something extra to really shine. This blog post is all about how you can turn your photos into real feel-good highlights with just a few simple steps, shimmering materials and a good dose of creativity. Without complicated techniques, but with lots of fun and room to try things out, you can create pages that will immediately put a smile on your face.
Whether iridescent rainbow elements, glittering disco accents on a dark background or loose doodles that give your photos an artistic upgrade - every idea invites you to reinterpret memories and give them a very personal touch. Small details such as wiggly eyes, embossed foil or neon highlights provide moments of surprise and turn every photo into a real eye-catcher.

SHADES OF RAINBOW

Without any complicated techniques, you can conjure up a real good mood filter for your memories. With suns, hearts, dachshunds & co. made of iridescent cardboard, you can add a little magic to your calendar page in no time at all. And when funny wiggly eyes are added, every photo becomes a little comedy star. You can easily stick on the self-adhesive wiggly eyes in different sizes - and your favorite photo will be looking at you with big googly eyes.

Schritt 1

What you need:

How to make:

  1. Print out the template and cut out the motifs from iridescent cardboard.
  2. Create a colorful collage from the photos and cut-out shapes.
  3. Finally, stick on the wiggly eyes - and bam: "Who's looking?".

Tip: You can easily layer photos and shapes with 3D adhesive pads to create a cool 3D effect that adds real depth to your collage.

MAKE YOUR MEMORIES DISCO!

On the black background, everything that glitters automatically gets that "Wow, where did you get that?" effect. With mirror mosaic stones, delicate illustrations in white gel pen and shimmering elements made of silver aluminum embossing foil, your memories can officially take to the dance floor.
Schritt 2

What you need:

How to craft:

  1. Choose your favorite photos. Tip: Photos don't always have to be square - cut out individual motifs to add variety to your collage
  2. Print out the template for the embossing foil stars and place on the embossing foil.
  3. Trace the shapes on a felt pad with the embossing pen and then cut them out with a little space around the edges. You can find more tips on embossing here: Embossing foil pendants
  4. Glue on small mirror mosaic stones for your disco balls and add a suspension or details with the white gel pen.
  5. You can easily draw small doodles on the dark background with the white gel pen - incorporate them into your collage as stars, lines or mini lettering.

Tip: Embossing foil elements look even better with 3D adhesive pads because they stand out slightly and reflect the light beautifully.

Doodle your way through the year

Whether it's delicate line illustrations, neon-colored highlights or shimmering elements made of embossed foil - just doodle away and give your photos a unique art upgrade!
Schritt 3

What you need:

This is how it's done:

  1. Select your favorite photos and place them on the calendar page. Tip: Leave some "air" around your photo - or cut out individual elements. This leaves space for doodles and collage highlights.
  2. Start doodling with the gel pens! Let your memories of the photo inspire you or use our template to help you get started. Extra cool: experiment with glitter, neon or metallic pens for exciting effects.
  3. Now comes the shine: add the finishing touches to your illustrations with embossing foil elements. Use our templates (e.g. croissant, lemon & co.) or design your own motif andplace the printed template on the embossing foil.
  4. Trace onto the felt base with the embossing pen, then cut out and arrange as small highlights.
Tip: 3D adhesive pads are the best way to attach the delicate embossed artwork - this also makes them look really three-dimensional.

PAPER CUT COLLAGES

With paper-cut figures, beautifully layered collage elements, small drawings and shiny highlights made from embossing foil, your photos can be turned into a handmade calendar with a wow effect in no time at all. Let your favorite people stroll through a paper flower wonderland and decorate your calendar pages with shimmering embossing foil.
Schritt 4

What you need:

How to make:

  1. Print out the templates for the flower collage and cut out the elements from photo cardboard and kraft cardboard.
  2. It's best to choose a photo that shows a whole figure - that way your favorite person can "walk" beautifully between the giant paper flowers. Arrange the photo and flowers however you like.
  3. You can use the 2 in 1 fiber pen to draw in additional details.
  4. Fix your elements with the adhesive stick or use 3D adhesive pads for a particularly beautiful layered look with a 3D effect.
  5. For sparkling highlights: Place the printed motif template on the embossing foil.
  6. Trace the template onto the felt base with the embossing pen and then cut out the flowers & co. with a little distance to the edge.

Tip: Arrange the embossing foil flowers around your photo and attach them with the 3D adhesive pads - this makes them look particularly three-dimensional and they shine beautifully in the light.

BLOOM YOUR MEMORIES

A photo captures the moment, dried flowers set the right mood. Whether vacation blossoms, balcony plants or small finds from a walk: with delicate details of nature, each calendar page becomes a small memento
Schritt 5

What you need:

This is how it's done:

  1. Choose your favorite photo and arrange it together with the dried flowers on the page.
Make sure there is variety and cut out elements from your photos. Tip: Tweezers are the easiest way to place the delicate dried flowers.
  2. If you like the arrangement, carefully glue everything in place. Fine elements work best with the glue stick, slightly larger plant elements are best attached with the narrow double-sided adhesive tape, arrange the embossed foil flowers around your photo and attach them with the 3D adhesive pads - this way they look particularly three-dimensional and shine beautifully in the light.
