Woven strip baskets
What you need:
Chicks inside and chicks outside! With colorful weaving strips from crafting paper, you can quickly create fun Easter baskets in three designs: a colorful checkered pattern, a speedy little chick, and a clucking hen. The fresh colors of purple, orange, and mint bring a real springtime vibe. Fill them with Easter eggs, chocolate, or small surprises for a sweet gift on Easter Sunday.
For the middle Easter basket, use 1.5 cm thick woven strips in three colors (purple, orange, mint). Lay nine orange woven strips vertically next to each other.
Place a mint-colored woven strip horizontally in the center, weave it alternately from top to bottom, and attach it to the nine orange strips with double-sided tape.
Weave eight more mint-colored strips horizontally through the orange strips. These must also be positioned in the center so that there is equal space at the top and bottom. This will create a checkered pattern for the base.
Now fold all the loose strips over at the edge and stand them upright.
Weave a purple woven strip around the base and secure the end with double-sided tape, concealing the fold.
Repeat this process eight more times. This will create another great checkered pattern.
The excess strips can be woven in or trimmed. Any loose ends of the strips can be secured with tape.
For the handle, glue two woven strips together and fold them in the middle so they lie side by side.
Wrap another strip made from two woven strips glued together around these two strips.
Secure the handle to the finished basket with tape.
For cool designs, weave short woven strips into the basket, such as the chick or rooster shown in the pattern.
Now simply fill your basket with Easter grass and delicious sweets and give it as a gift.
