Sloth lantern
What you need:
- folia template
- folia cardboard
- folia kraft cardboard
- folia transparent paper
- folia round lantern blank
- folia lantern stick & LED
- folia 2 in 1 fiber pen
- folia craft scissors
- folia double-sided adhesive tape
- folia round nose pliers
- sturdy needle
Who doesn't like to hang out and enjoy the day? This little sloth takes this literally and loves to be carried around the world in a relaxed manner, even on a lantern parade. Snuggled up in its lantern, it swings happily in the light and brings a pleasant glow to even the darkest of autumn evenings. One look at the sleepy little fellow and you'll feel a little more like cuddle mode yourself.
But the sloth doesn't just show its relaxed side outside. As a decoration in the room, it creates cozy islands of peace and reminds you to take a "snooze break" when you're busy crafting. With some tracing paper, a few crafting steps and a pinch of patience, you can easily make your own sleepy friend. So grab some scissors, glue and lots of feel-good crafting mood and make your sloth really cozy.
Transfer the parts from our template onto the kraft cardboard and the cardboard with a pencil. You will need two sloths for the two sides of the lantern, so you will need all the parts twice. Draw the circle twice on the tracing paper.
Once you have cut out the pieces, you should have 18 pieces in front of you (eight per sloth and two circles of tracing paper). Erase any pencil residue.
Now glue your sloths together. It is best to use double-sided adhesive tape for this. Note that you have to stick one sloth upside down!
Finally, draw on a cute face and the claws with the thin side of the dual-tip fiber pen.
Now it's time to make the lantern! Stick the tracing paper circles to the inside of the lantern blank using double-sided adhesive tape.
Then crease the cardboard in the places provided. Stick the lantern together and secure it with adhesive tape.
Now you can glue your sloths to the sides.
Using a sturdy needle, drill a hole in the top center of both sides of the lantern. The wire bracket will be inserted through this later.
Stick the LED decorative light into the lantern.
Take the round nose pliers and bend the ends of the wire hanger.
Then insert the wire bracket into the holes and hook the lantern stick into place. Squeeze the wire of the wooden stick with the pliers so that nothing slips out.
