Our Space Cat is purrrrfectly prepared for the lantern parade! With sparkling eyes, an extra fluffy space mane and a rocket-powered purr, the little astronaut cat is getting ready to make the night sky unsafe. Between stardust and glittering milky ways, she is already floating through the air and is just waiting for you to follow her.

And the best part? It really only takes a few small steps until you're ready to launch yourself. With your own rocket lantern, you'll be off the ground in no time: first a bit of crafting, then a bit of gluing, finally a glowing countdown and you'll be part of the most galactic lantern crew far and wide.whether at a big lantern parade, in the garden or on an evening stroll: your Space Cat always makes for astonished looks, warm lights and a good dose of space magic. So: strap on your craft supplies, take your Space Cat by your side and take off in 3, 2, 1... purrrfect take-off!

Schritt 1
Print out the pattern templates in A4 format. Do not reduce the size of the motifs when printing and join templates A and B together.
Schritt 2
Place the transparent lantern blank on top. Cut off the overhanging edge at the top. You will need this later for gluing together.
Schritt 3
Cut the colored tracing paper to size and stick it to the lantern blank using double-sided adhesive tape. Leave a little bit of the colored tracing paper sticking out.
Schritt 4
Cut strips from the iridescent cardboard and stick them between the transparent paper strips using double-sided adhesive tape. Glue one strip of the iridescent cardboard to the left, right, top and bottom.
Schritt 5
Use the printed template to cut out a ring for the cat tronaut's peep hole from the iridescent cardboard. Glue a printout of the Space Cat into the ring. Glue it to the ring from the back. Glue the party hat over the ring.
Schritt 6
Stick the space cat with iridescent ring over the round purple tracing paper.
Schritt 7
The bottom of your cheese box forms the base of your lantern. The lid of the cheese box goes on top. Wrap the lantern blank with the attached elements around it and stick it in place with double-sided adhesive tape.
Schritt 8
Stick everything together well on the back, e.g. with adhesive tape and double-sided adhesive tape.
Schritt 9
There is another template to print out for the back. Stick the cat with the purple background onto the back of the lantern. Then use the printed template to cut out a ring with an opening from the iridescent cardboard and stick the ring over the cat. Place the opening of the ring where the cat's party hat is.
Schritt 10
For the rocket tip, first cut out the semicircle with the small stars from iridescent cardboard. Stick colored tracing paper behind the stars to make them shine brightly later.
Schritt 11
Now roll the semicircle into a cone and glue it to the protruding flap.
Schritt 12
Place the cone on top of the lantern and secure it with adhesive tape so that you can open the rocket tip again at any time to switch the light in the lantern on and off.
Schritt 13
Cut out the wings of the rocket from iridescent cardboard. Fold the flaps to the side. You can glue colored transparent paper in place of the round signal lights. Always glue two wings together so that the iridescent side is facing outwards. Stick the wings of the rocket to the rocket using double-sided adhesive tape.
Schritt 14
For the fire tail of the rocket, we cut strips of tracing paper (white, yellow, orange and pink) and glued them into a small round box with a lid. You can also use a cut toilet roll. We covered the small, round box with iridescent cardboard. If you only glue the lid to the box, you can stick the box on with the opening facing downwards and remove the fire tail at any time.
Schritt 15
If you attach the lantern wire hanger to two sides of the cheese box lid, you can carry the rocket more easily.
